Issue Brief: Service Challenges for Individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder in Pennsylvania

The issue brief  “Service Challenges for Individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder in Pennsylvania” highlights needs of individuals with autism and their families. Specifically, the issue brief notes the barriers that individuals with autism face when they try to access services, such as transportation, a shortage of providers, and scheduling conflicts. These challenges were identified from responses to the Pennsylvania Autism Needs Assessment (2011).  Through its demonstration projects, the ASERT Collaborative works to address the needs that were voiced in the Needs Assessment responses, by outlining relevant ASERT resources and projects and other possible solutions to the outlined barriers.
