Autism for African American Families, Part 1: Wondering and Worrying
This two part video series chronicles the experiences of five African-American families in Philadelphia as they learn about and address their child’s autism diagnosis. Part 1 of this film series addresses the unique stigmas and emotional conflicts that African-American families may encounter within their own families and within the community. This stigma can deter both recognizing the early signs of autism and then obtaining help.
