The Woodmere Annual: 77th Juried Exhibition On view through September 3rd

Woodmere’s annual juried exhibition highlights contemporary work in a wide variety of media by artists living within fifty miles of the Museum. This year’s juror is Syd Carpenter, a sculptor and professor of studio art at Swarthmore College who invited artists and craftspeople to submit work in all media that reference the land, the transience of the body, and the skill of the maker. The exhibition will include work curated from the museum’s collection as well as work by Carpenter. Follow the link below for more information.

Life in the Fast Lane: The Nascar Photography of Darryl Moran Opens July 14th

Speed, action, danger, corporate logos, pop icons—these are the defining elements of Darryl Moran’s stock car racing photographs. The first official photographer hired by NASCAR, Moran was responsible for capturing all aspects of the races from 1993 to 1997. His images depict the frantic pace of race day as well as the camaraderie of the drivers, intimate moments with fans and family members, and the support and spirit of the pit crew. During his tenure, the self-taught artist captured such legendary drivers as Dale Earnhardt, Rusty Wallace, Jeff Gordon, Mark Martin, Terry Labonte, Tammy Jo Kirk, and Harry Gant. Follow the link below for more information.
