Resource Center

The ASERT Resource Center serves as Pennsylvania’s leading source for up-to-date and accurate information and resources for individuals with autism, their families, the community and the professionals who support them. Contact the ASERT resource center to speak with a resource specialist who can help you learn how to discover and access resources in Pennsylvania. The resource center is open Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

When should I contact the Resource Center?

If you have additional questions about information you found on or would like to invite an outreach specialist to attend an event, conference, or support group, someone at the resource center can assist you.

ODP Communication 105-17: Public Comment Opportunity: Sexual Health, Personal Relationships and Sexuality Guidelines

The Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) is pleased to announce the opportunity for public comment on the Sexual Health, Personal Relationships and Sexuality Guidelines Bulletin.

In 2016, the Office of Developmental Programs contracted with the Institute on Disabilities at Temple University to form a cross-system, statewide committee of individuals with disabilities, professionals, family members, provider organizations, educators, medical professionals, and direct care staff to review and update the 1996 Guidelines Concerning Sexuality.  The committee has developed Sexual Health, Personal Relationships and Sexuality Guidelines to support men, women, and children and those who support them address this important natural aspect of life.  This bulletin will replace an obsolete bulletin 00-96-23 Guidelines Concerning Sexuality.

Interested persons are invited to submit written comments regarding the Sexual Health, Personal Relationships and Sexuality Guidelines bulletin.  Comments should be addressed to Julie Mochon, Department of Human Services, Office of Developmental Programs, 625 Forster Street, Room 501, Harrisburg, PA 17120.  Comments may also be submitted to ODP at  Comments received before midnight on November 10, 2017 will be reviewed and considered for revisions prior to official publication of the bulletin.
